TO WHITE-SPUNNER CONSTRUCTION’S
2023 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

White-Spunner Construction provides scholarship opportunities to the children of employees who have worked with the company for a year or more.

Since the scholarship program’s inception in the fall of 2000, White-Spunner has awarded financial gifts to students pursuing a college education - seeking out those who strive for academic achievement and character development, and those who have demonstrated leadership qualities and devotion to community service.

White-Spunner Construction is pleased to announce its twenty-second annual scholarship recipients.

Aaliyah Alexander

Alabama A&M University


Aaliyah Alexander begins her junior year at Alabama A&M University studying English with a concentration in secondary education this fall. In her first year at Alabama A&M, Aaliyah earned the title of President of the AAMU English Club and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. After completing her undergraduate studies, Aaliyah hopes to pursue a Master’s degree and build a career in the education field. When asked about her long-term goals, she said that she would like to teach literature at the collegiate level. This is her second year to be awarded the WSC scholarship.

Aaliyah is the daughter of Brandee Alexander. Brandee is the Drywall Division’s Project Coordinator and has been with White-Spunner Construction for nearly three years.

Sarah Holland is a junior at Auburn University studying computer science and software engineering. With a 3.91 GPA, Sarah is at the top of her class and a member of the Dean’s List. She is involved in the Society of Women Engineers and Auburn Outdoors, is the Team Leader of the Emerge Leadership Club and was named to Auburn’s 100+ Women Strong group in the College of Engineering last year. This is Sarah’s fourth year to receive the WSC scholarship.

Sarah is the daughter of Amy Holland. Amy is the company’s executive assistant and has been with White-Spunner Construction for nearly 25 years.

Ben Miller will begin his sophomore year at the University of Alabama at Birmingham this fall. He studies computer science and studio art at UAB and plans to become a software engineer or manufacturer. In his first year at UAB, Ben joined Honors College and is an active participant. Ben enjoys art, specifically drawing, and participating in volunteer opportunities on campus. He is currently working to become a Residential Advisor. This is Ben’s second year to receive the WSC scholarship.

Ben is the son of Philip Miller. Philip is a project executive and has been with White-Spunner Construction for more than 13 years collectively since 2003.

Jacob Holland is a recent graduate of Baker High School and will attend the University of South Alabama this fall to pursue a degree in information science. While at Baker, Jacob earned a 3.9 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society. He also held the position of Senior Build Officer on his school’s robotics team and League of Legends Top Laner on his school’s E-Sports team. This is Jacob’s first year to receive the WSC scholarship.

Jacob is the son of Amy Holland. Amy is the company’s executive assistant and has been with White-Spunner Construction for nearly 25 years.

McKinley Fuller is a recent graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School and will attend the University of Alabama this fall to study health science. At St. Paul’s, McKinley earned a 3.5 GPA and was a member of the honor roll and headmaster’s list. Additionally, McKinley was the captain of the cheerleading squad and participated in a variety of clubs, including the service leadership club, the mentor club, the spirit squad, and Younglife Campaigners. She enjoyed participating in her school’s theatre program and was elected Philanthropist of her high school sorority, Beta Sigma Chi - all while completing nearly 100 hours of community service. This is McKinley’s first year to receive the WSC scholarship.

McKinley is the stepdaughter of Tabitha Fuller. Tabitha is the drywall department’s administrative manager and has been with White-Spunner Construction for more than three years.
