While residents in South Carolina are working to recover and rebuild after the historic flooding that took place earlier this month, everyone at WSC is continuing to pray for those without homes, those who lost loved ones and all other victims affected by this disaster. Located on the Gulf Coast, WSC is all too familiar with this type of devastation and the long road to recovery the people of South Carolina are facing now. This tragedy also hits a little closer to home for us as we have employees currently living and working in South Carolina, as well as a project currently in progress in Columbia. Of course, the damage we have experienced has been very minimal compared to the thousands of people, families and businesses that have been affected by this terrible situation.

In the time we've spent working in South Carolina, our company has built excellent relationships with the local municipalities and other businesses in the area, and we want to do all we can to be good neighbors and support our friends in need. Some of our employees living in South Carolina and experiencing the devastation first-hand have been volunteering with their families and others in the area by helping move families, bringing food, repairing homes and doing whatever they can to lend assistance. They have also called on our employees here in Mobile to help in any way they can by donating money, food, water, materials, tools, etc.

In addition to the individual efforts of our employees, White-Spunner Construction is making a $2,000 donation to the American Red Cross to assist with disaster relief efforts. According to the organization's website, the Red Cross has mobilized more than 800 workers, 56 response vehicles and shelter supplies for 5,000 people since the floods began.
