White-Spunner Construction is pleased to announce the completion of a second Community Bank in Mobile, Alabama, located at 6587 Airport Boulevard in west Mobile. The first day of business for the new branch was Monday, August 15 with a grand opening celebration event set for Wednesday, September 7 at 9 AM. Refreshments and special giveaways will be provided. The media, city officials and general community are invited to attend.
Based in Mobile, White-Spunner Construction (WSC) served as general contractor on this $1.86 million new construction project. The 7,200-square-foot branch includes office space, a large lobby, customer lounge, conference area, vault, safe deposit box services, drive-thru teller service, a 24/7 drive-thru ATM, and night depository. CB Express is a lobby kiosk that allows customers to conduct their transactions quickly at the touch of a button. Also in the lobby is a set of "tech bars" equipped with iPads and Mac computers allowing customers to demo online and CB2GO mobile banking products.
The single-story building was constructed of structural metal studs and steel framing and features brick and stucco exteriors with decorative parapet elements. It was designed with energy saving technologies, such as LED lighting and advanced heating and cooling systems. Artwork from local artists, high-resolution video screens and upscale décor add to the modern feel of the office. The architect on the project was Jarrid Cecil, Eley Guild Hardy Architects from Biloxi, Mississippi.
Ryan Puckett, Principal Designer, Community Bancshares of Mississippi, said the process of building the new location with WSC was a positive experience for the Gulf Coast company, noting the branch was able to open on time and on budget. Puckett said customers may notice the latest technology inside the new branch, but added facetoface interactions will continue. “Our culture will remain as a community bank,” Puckett said. “Our customers are like family and our employees value and respect what each client brings to our company.”
During the September 7 open house at the new branch in Mobile, customers and guests can register for a number of giveaways including a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV, an iPad, Kindle Fire, Apple TV or Apple Watch. Registration is open now and ends on October 9 at 5 p.m.. Residents of Mobile or Baldwin County may register to win in the office or online at CommunityBank.net/Mobile.
“The individuals in charge of Construction (for Community Bank) Jim White and Ryan Puckett are a pleasure to work with and make the process streamlined. We are glad we can provide a quality product for an exceptional client. This new location will afford the bank a premier location and excellent visibility,” said WSC senior project manager Joshua Dindo.
In 2014, White-Spunner served as general contractor for the construction of the 13,000squarefoot Community Bank area headquarters on the I65 Service Road in Mobile that serves as the administrative hub for the bank’s activities in the metro area. That multimillion dollar project site was completed a month ahead of schedule. It features state-of-the-art office space, a video conference room and a large multipurpose area for client seminars. Community Bank opened its first office in the Mobile area in 2007, and continues to expand along the Gulf Coast. Other area locations include Daphne and Fairhope.
Since 1981, White-Spunner Construction has completed $2.4 billion in total construction value, building an annual average volume of $73 million in projects during the past five years, company officials said.
