Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) National Chapter Honors White-Spunner Construction with Safety Award Mobile, Alabama (April 16, 2012) - The Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) National chapter recently announced that Mobile-based, White-Spunner Construction, Inc. will receive a Gold Level STEP award for excellence in safety practice. The ABC established the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program in 1989 to recognize ABC members who consistently excel in the field of safety. Using 20 standard “key components” of safety—above and beyond OSHA requirements for a safe workplace, STEP also provides a consistent tool for members to evaluate their safety training programs. Each key component focuses on specific safety and training areas essential to an effective safety training program. There are six levels of achievement in the STEP program: Participant, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. White-Spunner Construction will receive its Gold Level STEP award at the ABC's Safe Day Luncheon on Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. “This is our second major safety award this year, and we're honored to receive this recognition from ABC. The STEP program helps us continuously improve our safety and loss prevention programs, ensuring we remain at the top of our field,” says Mike Fitzgerald, President of White-Spunner Construction, Inc.
