New polo barn provides top-notch accommodations for 24 polo horses and staff Point Clear, AL (October 11, 2010) - White-Spunner Construction Inc. recently completed a state-of-the-art, luxurious “Polo Barn” in Point Clear, Ala. The energy efficient equestrian facility boasts 16,660 roof-covered square feet for 24 horses and staff. This newly completed complex is located on Hwy 32, east of Hwy 181 in Point Clear, AL – an area that is home to local and international polo players, their families and friends as well as polo enthusiasts. “We are proud to have been chosen to construct this beautiful polo barn,” said Ben Harris, project manager of the Mobile-based White-Spunner Construction. “This structure will provide everything that polo players, their horses and staff could ever need or want.” Currently, the complex is the venue for the Eastern Shore’s most prestigious charity sporting events including Polo at the Point, Chukkars for Charity and the Kentucky Derby. The barn, built with rough-sawn heavy timber construction, is as functional and inviting as it is elaborate. The building features rough-sawn cypress board and batten siding and “Old Chicago” brick as the exterior envelope. All interior walls and ceilings are heart pine and all exterior ceilings are heart pine as well, adding to the warm feeling of the facility, Harris said.
