Mobile-based firm recently finished gleaming glass & stucco showroom & service center in Daphne Mobile, Alabama (February 7, 2011) - White-Spunner Construction, Inc. recently completed a sparkling new full-service Hyundai dealership in Daphne. The new Hyundai dealership is located at 29736 Frederick Boulevard, just off Interstate 10, alongside the Toyota dealership. The Mobile-based general contracting, design build and construction management firm – with branch offices in Austin, Texas and Gulfport, Miss – acquired the project award by offering the most competitive bid. They broke ground on Eastern Shore Hyundai in December 2009 and completed the project last month. The construction part of the project was $4,249,470 and came in on time and within budget. They were pleased to have the opportunity to employ key local construction personnel to complete this project. “White-Spunner Construction is excited to have helped Eastern Shore Hyundai create this beautiful new dealership for their customers,” said WSC Project Manager Ben Harris. “The luxurious new showroom and new vehicle service center are gorgeous, state-of-the art enhancements to an already successful dealership.” The 32,455 square-foot stucco and glass structure features elaborate, gleaming custom-made floor tiles in the showroom, a special waiting area for Genesis, Equus and Vera Cruz customers, as well as a full service department with in-ground hydraulic vehicle lift equipment, said Lanny Russell with Zito Russell Architects in Mobile. “We provided a high quality building with an interesting use of materials and design,” said Russell. “The President/Owner of Eastern Shore Hyundai, Shawn Esfahani, requested particular finishes and we were able to oblige with nice materials throughout.” The main project challenge for both White-Spunner Construction and Zito Russell Architects was creating a totally new look. “Mr. Esfahani received special permission to have the dealership look more like a retail center instead of a normal design automobile dealership,” Harris said. Esfahani emphasized the importance of achieving a design for the project that was consistent with the community’s architecture as well as complimentary to his neighboring Toyota dealership, Russell said. “He wanted the new dealership to have a look that fit the Eastern Shore and which blended with his adjacent Toyota dealership,” Russell added. The dealership was designed with customer comfort and satisfaction in mind, Esfahani said. “I wanted the store to feel warm and inviting so that customers would want to come in and see the great new product that Hyundai is providing, and to have a very comfortable environment while they were visiting with us,” he said. “David Zuchowski, Sr. V.P. of Hyundai Motor Corp, was instrumental in approving the facility and recognizing our wishes to be ahead of other Hyundai dealers with a design that is consistent with customers needs now and in the future.” Mr. Esfahani said that his association with White-Spunner Construction and Zito Russell Architects has been a great partnership. “I have built other dealerships in the past and I have to tell you that this one had the fewest problems and their associates were the easiest to work with,” he said.
