Viewpoint Construction Software recently created an infographic called "Safety in the Construction Industry" to give a deeper look at construction safety statistics over the last decade. Since safety is one of our top priorities at White-Spunner Construction, we wanted to share some of these interesting statistics:
- The top 4 injuries that lead to fatalities in the construction industry are falls, being caught between two objects, electrocution and being struck by an object.
- Eliminating these injuries would save the lives of 435 American construction workers every year.
- Although the construction industry had a higher number of fatalities (775) in 2012, the transportation and warehousing, agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, and mining, quarrying, oil and gas industries had higher death rates based on the number of employees in each industry.
