Mobile, AL (June 29, 2012) - Mobile Transportation Security Administration unveiled its most advanced security technology at Mobile Regional Airport on May 2, 2012. The installation of this scanner will speed up the check point process for the passengers. At the same time, the TSA will be able to provide a more thorough scan of the passengers, increasing the safety of passengers passing through Mobile. With a tight schedule and the security of the Mobile Regional Airport on the line, White-Spunner Construction set out to install the latest Body Scanning technology for those traveling from Mobile, AL. The three week process included the demolition of several walls and ceilings to make room for the new scanner. The project required relocation of the old metal detector and scanner lines and decommission of the X-ray scanner. Construction also involved new floor tile installation, core drilling of power and communications cables, and relocation of X-ray lines. A new private screening room was also constructed. To avoid disruption of heavy air traveler flow time, all work was completed at night, allowing the TSA checkpoint to remain operational throughout the entire project. “We're proud to have had a hand in ensuring Mobile Regional Airport is the most secure environment for travelers,” notes John White-Spunner, CEO. “And I'm especially pleased with the disciplined schedule our crews kept to minimize disruption for travelers during the installation process,” White-Spunner says.
