Mobile, Alabama (January 18, 2013) - White-Spunner Construction, Inc. (WSC) was recently recognized as one of Alabama's “2013 Top-Rank General Contractors” by Business Alabama. The value of contracts awarded in 2011 was the criteria for companies to achieve Top Rank in the statewide category of “Largest General Contractor.” Based in Mobile and with 2011 contract awards approaching $100 million, White-Spunner Construction was ranked nine in the category of “Largest General Contractors.” “What's significant about this award is that we achieved a Top Rank with substantially fewer employees that our Top Rank colleagues—less than half the employees, to be exact,” explains WSC President John White-Spunner. “This is a notable achievement for our employees and truly demonstrates their dedication! I couldn't be more proud to work with them,” he continues. At a value of $32 million, the University of South Alabama Recreation Center in Mobile was WSC's largest project completed in 2011. The $37-million Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs, MS, was WSC's largest project under construction at the time of Top Rank selection. Business Alabama's annual Top Rank publication was designed to identify and honor the best businesses in Alabama by industry, reviewing companies from across the state for inclusion.
